SERAFINA KEMERBURGAZ

Located within Kemer Country Golf Club, Serafina Kemerburgaz is part of a globally recognized Italian restaurant chain, reinterpreted through a site specific restaurant interior architecture approach by Toros and Partners, an interior architecture studio based in Istanbul and operating across Turkey. The project represents a refined example of Italian restaurant interior design in Istanbul, shaped by craftsmanship, narrative-driven design, and a strong relationship with its natural context.

The interior concept draws its primary inspiration from Italy’s centuries old mosaic tradition, translated into the space through custom designed mosaic surfaces developed exclusively for this project. These bespoke mosaics act as architectural storytelling elements rather than decorative features, reflecting the artistic depth and cultural richness of Italian heritage. Complementing this language, custom wood craftsmanship is used extensively, inspired by Italian architectural traditions where material authenticity, warmth, and tactility play a central role.

Being located within an active golf course landscape, the design establishes a poetic dialogue between the interior and the sport of golf itself. At the heart of this relationship is a bespoke lighting installation, specially designed by Toros and Partners as an architectural art installation, inspired by the dynamic movement of a golf ball. Flowing across the ceiling, this installation introduces rhythm, continuity, and motion, becoming both a visual focal point and a symbolic spatial interpretation of the golf experience.

Materiality plays a defining role throughout the interior. Specially designed wooden and marble floor compositions were developed to reinforce craftsmanship and permanence. The combined use of wood and glass, inspired by Italian construction culture, allows transparency and layering to coexist with solidity. Throughout the space, curated elements placed within framed compositions support the Italian spirit, turning walls and surfaces into narrative layers that enhance the overall atmosphere.

At the core of the Serafina Kemerburgaz project lies the guest experience. Private dining rooms were designed to offer intimate and refined environments for special gatherings, while a dedicated wine cellar and humidor room celebrates Italian dining rituals, wine culture, and gastronomic craftsmanship. These spaces provide exclusivity while remaining spatially connected to the main dining areas.

Positioned near the entrance, the open pizza oven and kitchen operate as a performative element within the restaurant interior. Italian cuisine is transformed into a live experience, allowing guests to visually engage with the culinary process. This openness reinforces authenticity while strengthening the emotional connection between gastronomy, space, and culture.

The color palette is inspired by Italy’s natural landscapes and gardens, further enriched by the surrounding greenery of the golf course. Large glass façades frame uninterrupted views of the fairways, allowing daylight to enter the interior and strengthening the relationship between the restaurant and its outdoor setting. This transparency dissolves boundaries between inside and outside, positioning the project as a distinctive golf club restaurant interior design reference.

Throughout the design process, the objective was to create a restaurant interior that extends beyond aesthetics, offering a holistic spatial experience where architecture, art, craftsmanship, and gastronomy intersect. As a restaurant interior design project in Istanbul and Turkey, Serafina Kemerburgaz stands as a strong reference for fine dining and global restaurant chain interior architecture, seamlessly integrating brand identity with local context and bespoke design solutions.

Designed by Toros and Partners, the project positions itself as a benchmark for restaurant interior architecture and F&B space design in Turkey, reflecting a contemporary interpretation of Italian culture through custom production, material intelligence, and experiential storytelling.
